More Homosexual Evangelism

There’s an old rule about enough never being enough. I think this is the case with homosexuals too. Here’s an interesting story about the Evangelical Lutheran Church: http://www.pinknews.co.uk/news/articles/2005-5131.html

In a co-ordinated campaign of opposition to a rule banning lesbian and gay ministers from having sexual relationships, 82 Evangelical Lutheran clergy came out of the closet yesterday. The Church’s Assembly in Chicago is expected to vote on the issue tomorrow.

It sort of makes me wonder what Martin Luther, presumably the ‘founder’ (or at least the instigator) of the Lutheran Church would say. It doesn’t change the Scripture’s position on this one iota. Homosexuals still will not inherit the Kingdom of God. They may try to create fellowship, but there will be no fellowship.

First homosexuals want to come out of the closet. Then they want everyone to know. Then they want parades. Then they want the military. Then they want marriage. Then they want adoption. Then they want the church…it won’t end. Paul is quite clear in Romans 1:

“For although they knew God, the neither glorified him as God nor gave thanks to him, but their thinking became futile and their foolish hearts were darkened. And although they claimed to be wise, they became fools and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images made to look like mortal man and birds and animals and reptiles. Therefore God gave them over in the sinful desires of their hearts to sexual impurity for the degrading of their bodies with one another. They exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served created things rather than the Creator–who is forever praised. Amen. Because of this, God gave them over to shameful lusts. Even their women exchanged natural relations for unnatural ones. In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed indecent acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their perversion.” (1:21-27, NIV)

Shame on the Evangelical Lutheran Church. Shame on those clergy who, ‘know God’s righteous decree that those who do such things deserve death, they not only continue to do these very things, but also approve of those who practice them’ (1:32, NIV). (I’m not advocating the killing of people, nor is Paul. He means, that our sin deserves punishment from God, and humans are trying to justify sin.) This homosexuality is God’s judgment already being poured out…

I predict that eventually, maybe not in this lifetime, or maybe in this lifetime, the issue of homosexuality in the Church will be the undoing of the American Church as we know it–unless Christians take their stand now and refuse to acknowledge homosexuality as compatible with a Holy God like these Anglicans: http://www.pinknews.co.uk/news/articles/2005-5138.html

Three churches in Los Angeles that rejected the authority of their diocese over the ordination of a gay bishop are asking the California Supreme Court to give them control of parish properties. The parishes of All Saints Long Beach, St. David’s North Hollywood and St. James’ Newport Beach placed themselves under the jurisdiction of the Ugandan Anglican Church when they split from the LA diocese.

A long-running court battle over the control of church buildings culminated last month with a ruling in the appeals court that the properties are held in trust for the diocese and the national Anglican Church and do not belong to the individual congregations.

Lower courts had sided with the parishes, who argued they were being victimised for their views on gay clergy.

At least 45 US parishes have broken away and placed themselves under the jurisdiction of African bishops and in May the diocese of Fort Worth, Texas, decided to reject the spiritual authority of the US Episcopalian church and seek alternative oversight. 1. “I predict that eventually, maybe not in this lifetime, or maybe in this lifetime, the issue of homosexuality in the Church will be the undoing of the American Church as we know it”

Unless our complacency allows the (as Ravi Zacharias put it) “impending Islamic onslaught” to do it first.

BTW – I appreciate this blog.

    Blessings…

  2. Thank you for reading. My goal is to continue speaking (or in this case writing) the truth that needs to be heard. The devil has filled the church will lies in the hopes of destroying the church. Those who know the truth, must speak the truth. We must not cower in fear or apprehension. We must not be ashamed of the Gospel for it is the Power of God unto Salvation.
