Yet another Concession from a Christian?

The news keeps getting better and better as Christians continue to fall into the trap of appeasement towards Islam. Check out this story about a Catholic Bishop in the Netherlands and what he thinks is a good approach to making Muslims happy, and for promoting peace between Christians and Muslims:

Catholic churches in the Netherlands should use the name Allah for God to ease tensions between Muslims and Christians, says a Dutch bishop.

Tiny Muskens, the bishop of Breda, told the Dutch TV program “Network” Monday night he believes God doesn’t mind what he is called, Radio Netherlands Worldwide reported.

I have a better idea. How about Muslims stop persecuting people who are not Muslims? How about they stop killing Christians and Jews? How about they stop killing one another? How about they let the Korean hostages leave in peace? I think if they would stop flying airplanes into buildings, blowing up children and women with homocide vests, and start treating people the way they wish to be treated, there might be some peace in the world.

Now, contrary to this Bishop’s pathetic and abysmal theology, God does mind what he is called. The Scripture very clearly says that there is only One Name given under heaven by which men Must be Saved: Jesus (Acts 4:12). Paul wrote in Philippians that someday every knee will bow and tongue confess that Jesus is Lord  (Philippians 2):

9Therefore God exalted him to the highest place
and gave him the name that is above every name,
10that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow,
in heaven and on earth and under the earth,
11and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord,
to the glory of God the Father.

There are many other passages, particularly in the Gospel of John, where we learn that Jesus is One with the Father. So, Bishop Muskens, is quite wrong to make such a suggestion. The God and Father of the Lord Jesus Christ is not, under any circumstances, named Allah. There is nothing that connects Allah to Jesus at all.
